Kids' Virtues Camp - Summer 2016
Unity Port Moody is planning to organize a Kids' Virtues Camp for the summer of 2016 for children between 5 to 10 years old. Exact dates will be announced after we have an idea of the number of parents who are interested in this camp. We are now accepting preliminary registration online here to help us assess the level of interest.
The purpose of this camp is stated in the Virtues Project website (www.virtuesproject.com) as follows:
The Virtues Project™ helps parents awaken the qualities of character that exist in potential in their children. By speaking the language of virtues, setting virtues-based boundaries and recognizing teachable moments, we bring out the best in our children -- and ourselves. We become mentors helping our children to become compassionate, courageous, respectful, confident and purposeful. The greatest gift we can give our children is the authentic self-esteem that comes from developing their virtues -- becoming contributors rather than consumers. The world needs people willing to take personal responsibility. Let it be this generation.
In line with the objectives above, the Kids' Virtues Camp this summer will serve as a springboard from which parents can further find practical ways to tap into their children's potential. In addition, Unity Port Moody, based on the response we receive from parents, will continue to organize classes to help parents achive this priceless goal for their children.
Note: The Kids' Virtues Camp is a community project sponsored by the Baha'i Community of Port Moody and will be offered free of charge to parents.
